10/01/2017: UK Nostalgia Superstock calendar announced

Many thanks to Jim Chandler for letting us know that the 2017 UK Nostalgia Superstock calendar has been released:

UKSA is a new but greatly expanding race series which has only been in existence for five years. It was the idea of Pete Walton and I; we both broke our cars at Dragstalgia and so decided that we were going to race each other every year and share the trophy for winner and runner-up. However word got out, so Pete had to set up and start running a proper series.

The look and feel of the class was to relive the heydays of Stock and Superstock racing of the 1960s and 1970s. It is a bracket racing dial-in class, running 9.00 seconds to 14.99 seconds, so something for quick street cars to hard-hitting track cars. First it ran only at Dragstalgia, then as it became more and more popular more dates were added to the calendar until in 2017 there are eight confirmed dates:

21st-24th April: Big Bang Camper and Bus Show, Santa Pod Raceway
29th April-1st May: APIRA Springspeed Nationals, Shakespeare County Raceway
27th-29th May: York Raceway
24th-26th June: SPR Summernationals, Santa Pod Raceway
14th-16th July: Dragstalgia, Santa Pod Raceway
28th-30th July: 24th Mopar EuroNationals, Santa Pod Raceway
26th-28th August: APIRA Open Sport Nationals, Shakespeare County Raceway
23rd-24th September: UK National Finals, Santa Pod Raceway

Points will be allocated from the five best rounds, so even if you can't make all eight rounds you still have a good chance of winning.

To be eligible to race all you need is a pre-1980 American V8 car which can run between 9.00 seconds and 14.99 seconds, and to be a fully paid-up member of UKSA. A basic outline of the rules is: stock style suspension, max 10" rim, max 10" slick, no back halved cars or power adders. The full list of rules, regulations and safety requirements can be found on the UKNSA web site at uknsa.freeforums.net or our Facebook page. Additionally to run at any permit / sanctioned events you must have a valid MSA licence and be a member of either Avon Park International Racing Association or Santa Pod racers Club.
